Sustainability
Love, share, pass down, re-wear
When we started Pickle & Podge, we wanted to create joyful, magical things for children—without compromising the world they’re growing up in. That meant being thoughtful not just about how things look, but how they’re made, where they come from, and what happens to them after the candles are blown out.
We design every piece here in the UK, then work closely with a small team of incredible manufacturing partners in India to bring our ideas to life. Many of our products are handcrafted, and where we can, we sea freight our orders to keep our carbon footprint low. Our small team works from home too—no commute, no big head office, just a quieter kind of footprint.
We believe that beautiful things should last. That’s why our outfits and accessories are designed to last, share, pass down and re-wear! We encourage you to cherish these timeless pieces – whether it’s a tutu skirt handed down from siblings, through the generations, or garlands that can bring character and personality to your child’s bedroom long after the party!
We work very closely with our manufacturing partners, to minimise our fabric wastage and, where possible, use any off cuts to create more fun and imaginative products! And we go through diligent procedures to ensure our manufacturers meet the ethical standards required, to guarantee our products are made safely and in fair working practices.
Our paper party pieces are made from handmade recycled cotton waste paper, and what’s more, the manufacturing unit for these is fully solar powered and recycles rain water, saving over 20,000 litres a year!
And when it comes to packaging, we keep it simple and recyclable. Our swing tags are paper, tied with ribbon—not plastic—so you can reuse them as gift tags. No unnecessary extras, just thoughtful details that can be loved again.
We’re always learning, always improving. Sustainability isn’t a box we tick—it’s a journey we’re on. For our children, and yours.
